A staple in meat texture alternatives, young jackfruit has quickly made it’s way into all of our kitchens! Simply drain, rinse, cut, boil and season with Cha’s Organics spices and you are already on your way to a savoury fibrous texture addition to all your favourite meals.

Grown in biodiverse organic orchards in Sri Lanka, Cha’s Organics young jackfruit is processed in small batches and packed in a brine of purified water, organic coconut vinegar and sea salt using BPA-free cans.

Since this is raw jackfruit that has not been previously processed, we recommend boiling for 20-30 mins to obtain your desired softness.

How to use

Step 1: Rinse and drain young jackfruit

Step 2: Cut into desired size

Step 3: Boil for 15-20 mins until desired softness is achieved

Step 4: Add softened jackfruit to your recipes

What is the difference between young jackfruit and sweet jackfruit? 

Both jackfruits are from the same tree but are harvested during different growth stages.

Young jackfruit is picked unripe resulting in a neutral taste that absorbs the seasonings that it is cooked in.

Sweet jackfruit has fully tree ripened and has a sweetly unique taste similar to a blend of pineapple and mango. It is commonly used in fruit salads, desserts, smoothies or eaten out of the can as is. 

Is this pre flavoured?

We did not add any additional spices or flavourings, this is simply jackfruit in brine. It will absorb all the spices cooked with it so simply season according to your favourite recipe!
