Spiced Apple Crumble

Serves 6-8

INGREDIENTS:

Spiced Apple Filling

Crumble Topping

  • 1¾ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup almond or chickpea flour
  • ¾ cup coconut or maple sugar
  • 1½ Tbsp maple syrup
  • ¾ tsp ground true cinnamon
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 6 Tbsp neutral tasting coconut, melted

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F .
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients for the apple filling, stirring well, then transfer to a deep baking dish.
  3. Using a food processor or high speed blender, combine 1 cup of oats with the all other topping ingredients and pulse until the mixture begins binding together.
  4. Add remaining oats and pulse a few more times.
  5. Cover the filling with the pulsed oat mixture, pressing down to form an even topping.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes, then remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.
