The coconuts used in Cha's Organics Premium Coconut Milk are harvested from regenerative organic orchards in Sri Lanka and sourced on Fair Trade terms. These coconuts are cultivated with respect for the land, using climate smart traditional farming practices that promote biodiversity, regenerate healthy soil and protect the environment, without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

The first Fair Trade coconut milk to be sold in Canada, Cha’s Organics Premium Coconut Milk won the Best Fair Trade Product title at the 2013 Canadian Fair Trade awards. Fair Trade ensures a better deal for farmers by guaranteeing a higher price for their crops and a Fair Trade premium which benefits their communities by supporting projects like clean water access, improved infrastructure and the purchase of school supplies.

Animal Welfare

A convenient dairy free swap to reduce consumption of animal products, Cha’s Organics Premium Coconut Milk also protects animals in other ways. One percent of the sales of this product are donated to help protect wild elephants by mitigating the human-elephant conflict in Sri Lanka. By partnering with organizations that facilitate the peaceful coexistence of humans and elephants in rural Sri Lanka, Cha's Organics is saving elephants while strengthening communities and protecting the environment. What's more, Cha's Organics guarantees that the coconuts used in their Premium Coconut Milk are never picked by monkeys.
